brain training study

Maths takes practice but i have no motivation to do it?
I realize you have to train your brain to understand maths, I really want to get better at it, but I find it so hard and boring to sit down at a desk for a couple of hours a day studying it.
Any one got a bit of advice for me or perhaps you hated maths as well but started liking it
What you really need is a good teacher. I used to hate math because I had this jerk of a teacher that kept saying, “yes you do” when I would say, “I don’t understand.” Not a very good teaching method. Then before that I just didn’t care. I probably only got B’s because the teachers liked me.
Once I reached college I was enrolled in a class with Brenda Gaipa (if you live in San Diego and go to City, she’s amazing) and she was able to teach math like it was fun. I actually was able to start enjoying it. The book she assigned us was also awesome but I can’t source it because I don’t have it available.
The method I use to learn math is actually to not pay attention to the teacher. What I did is I would take out my book and go to the subject they are teaching us and start either working on your homework or answering problems in the book while they’re explaining how to do it. The subconsious will pick up what they’re saying and you’ll understand better by doing while they teach. Also, the best part about it is, if you’re going along with them, if you get stuck on a problem just ask them to explain a step to you and it will seem like you’ve been paying attention the whole time. ^_^
Good luck to you. I hope you can get a hang on it. The most important thing is to not tell yourself you don’t want to do it. Just think it’s a game and you may find yourself enjoying or at least tolerating it. Also, if you’re working at home, you can reward yourself for studying. Give yourself a cookie or some other prize each time you solve either fifteen problems or when you’ve been working for a half hour. ^_^
